Leipzig tourism continues its upward trend: New guest record with 2.9 million overnight stays in 2016

Leipzig remains a top tourist destination, and enjoys growing popularity amongst tourists: For the eleventh year in a row, Leipzig also surpassed the figures of the previous year in 2016. With a total of 1,572,073 arrivals, the city recorded an increase of 2.4 percent compared to 2015. The total number of overnight stays was 2,899,393, an increase of 2.5 percent.
