Cyprus is interested in Kazakhstan's eGov, we are ready to share experience - Tokayev

Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that Kazakhstan is prepared to create favorable conditions for Cypriot companies seeking to enter the local market.
According to the President, more than 400 companies with Cypriot capital currently operate in the country, approximately 30 of which are registered with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

"This alone testifies to the consistent development of our business and investment ties. Today, the Kazakhstan-Cyprus Business Forum will be held in our capital. This important event will bring together business circles from both countries. A delegation of Cypriot entrepreneurs has arrived specifically to participate in this forum, for which I express my sincere gratitude to Mr. President. Kazakhstan is ready to create favorable conditions for Cypriot companies wishing to operate in our market. We invite Cypriot business citizens to jointly implement long-term investment projects. We recently adopted a new Constitution, under which all forms of property are guaranteed in Kazakhstan. The Basic Law provides maximum protection for investor rights," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Head of State also noted that Cypriot partners can take advantage of Kazakhstan's Altyn Visa program. Entrepreneurs and specialists granted this visa are provided with tax and migration benefits.
During the negotiations, the presidents paid special attention to cooperation in the field of digital technologies and innovation.

"The Cypriot side has shown interest in Kazakhstan's eGov system and projects for the digitalization of public services. We are ready to share our experience in this area. During the talks, special attention was also paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. In particular, we agreed to strengthen contacts between academic and scientific communities, and to increase cooperation in the fields of education, sports, and tourism.
Overall, there is every reason to assert that today's negotiations were successful. We have signed a number of important documents that will give a new impetus to our interaction. I am convinced that the implementation of these agreements will strengthen relations between our two states," the Head of State noted.

In turn, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides stated that today's talks with Tokayev confirmed a firm political will to further develop relations in the political and economic spheres.

"We emphasized the importance of regular contacts at all levels, as a steady political dialogue is a key factor in building trust and achieving concrete results. I am pleased that today we are signing a number of memoranda of understanding in such key areas as higher education, scientific research, culture, sports, innovation, digital governance, and information technology.
These agreements are not merely technical documents, but a clear confirmation of our shared determination to transform the significant potential of bilateral relations into a more structured and meaningful form," said the President of Cyprus.
