Up to +41 degrees: new heatwave to hit Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have released the weather forecast for August 8, 9 and 10.

According to the forecast, a new heatwave is expected in Kazakhstan in the coming days. From August 8 to 10, hot and dry weather will prevail across most of the country, though some regions will experience thundershowers.

Heat of up to +41 degrees

Kazakhstan's weather will be shaped by an expansive anticyclone. Temperatures are set to rise significantly as warm air masses arrive from Iran. In the north and east of the country, temperatures will climb to +35...+39 degrees Celsius.

Intense heat of up to +35...+41 degrees is expected in the south.

In the western and central regions, temperatures will rise to +36...+41 degrees. Some areas here are bracing for extreme heat.

Where rain and thunderstorms are expected

Despite the predominantly dry weather, precipitation will affect certain regions. In western and northwestern Kazakhstan, a northwestern cyclone and atmospheric fronts will bring thunderstorms and increased winds toward the end of the period. Hail is possible in some areas.

Thunderstorms are expected in the east of the republic at the beginning of the period.

Additionally, thunderstorms are forecast for all three days in the mountainous regions of the south and southeast.
