Foreign blogger barred from entering Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Astana police have commented on livestreams involving a foreign streamer who made provocative remarks about Kazakhstan. A court held her administratively liable and restricted her entry into the country.
Clips from livestreams featuring a foreign streamer known by the nickname Fasoollka, which she broadcast while in Kazakhstan, circulated on social media and Twitch.
During her streams, she repeatedly made destructive and provocative statements about Kazakhstan, including questioning the country’s territorial integrity and the state affiliation of Kazakh cities.
The blogger also used disparaging stereotypes about Kazakhstanis, as well as the country’s culture and traditions.
Police identified the foreign national’s streams while monitoring social media.

“By court decision, the foreign national was held administratively liable and fined. Measures have been taken for her departure from the country in accordance with the law. Under current legislation, she will be barred from entering Kazakhstan for five years,” the Astana Police Department said.

Police stressed that Kazakhstan is open to foreign nationals and visitors, but staying in the country requires strict compliance with the law, as well as respect for the country, its citizens and generally accepted standards of conduct.
Earlier, a scandal involving foreign streamers erupted in Kazakhstan after they made insulting remarks about Kazakh women during a livestream.
Following a wave of complaints on social media, Almaty police launched an investigation, and a court sentenced two foreign nationals to 15 days of administrative arrest for minor hooliganism online.
