Weather to change drastically: rain and cooling coming to Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have presented the weather forecast for August 15, 16 and 17.

After a period of intense heat, temperatures are expected to drop noticeably across Kazakhstan. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast in most regions, with heavy precipitation, gusty winds and hail possible in some areas.

Temperatures to fall sharply

According to the forecast for August 15–17, atmospheric fronts will bring rain and thunderstorms to most of Kazakhstan. Dry weather is expected only in the west of the country and in Kyzylorda Region.

Heavy rain is forecast in Kostanay Region on August 15, and in North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions on August 15–16. Heavy precipitation is expected in Pavlodar Region on August 16.

Fog may occur at night and in the morning in parts of the west, northwest, north and center of the country.

Temperatures in the north to drop to +15°C

In Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions, nighttime temperatures will fall from +15…+20°C to +7…+12°C, while daytime temperatures will drop from +20…+30°C to +15…+20°C.

In Akmola and Pavlodar regions, nighttime temperatures are expected to decrease from +15…+20°C to +10…+15°C, while daytime temperatures will fall from +30…+35°C to +17…+25°C.

Heat to ease in central regions as well

Intense heat will subside in central and eastern Kazakhstan. While daytime temperatures currently reach +34…+39°C, and locally +40…+41°C in the south of these regions, they will later fall to +23…+33°C.

In southern Kazakhstan, daytime temperatures will decrease from +38…+44°C to +30…+37°C.

The heat will also ease in the southeast, with daytime temperatures dropping from +34…+39°C, and from +40…+43°C in the north of the region, to +30…+36°C.
