Tokayev congratulates Kazakh judokas on triumph at Youth World Championships
Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kazakh judokas on their triumphant performance at the World Youth Championships, according to Akorda.
Tokayev congratulated Kazakhstan’s national judo team on its convincing victory in the mixed team competition, and Gabit Rassulkhan, Fatima Supygaliyeva and Adilzhan Zhaudinov on winning gold medals in the individual events at the World Youth Judo Championships in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The President wished the young champions a brilliant sporting future and further achievements.
Kazakh athletes won 11 medals at the tournament — four gold, three silver and four bronze — achieving the best result in the history of Kazakhstan’s judo.
Yesterday evening, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a conversation with International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer, who congratulated the Kazakh leader on the unprecedented success of the country’s athletes at the world youth tournament.
In response, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked the international sports official for constructive cooperation with the national federation and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, which contributes to the promotion and development of judo in the country.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan’s national judo team won the team event at the Cadet World Championships in Ecuador for the first time in history. In the final of the mixed team competition, Kazakhstan defeated Brazil 4:3.
