WhatsApp has received a new feature for work - what has changed

Tengrinews.kz — WhatsApp has introduced a new capability for Meta AI. Users can now upload documents, spreadsheets, and presentations to the AI chat and request a content analysis.

WhatsApp announced the update in its official chat. Meta AI is now capable of performing tasks such as summarizing documents, locating specific information, or highlighting key data points.

How it works

We tested the new feature by uploading a table of food and service prices for February 2026 from the National Bureau of Statistics to Meta AI, asking it to extract the main data.

The AI successfully completed the task, identifying key indicators and concluding that the lowest prices were recorded in the Turkistan region.

This feature is particularly useful for quickly navigating large documents, finding data within spreadsheets, or preparing for meetings based on presentations. For instance, a user can upload a report and ask the AI to highlight the main points or find specific figures.

Meta AI file support is available on WhatsApp for iOS, Android, and Windows.

Things to keep in mind

The new feature comes with an important caveat: the AI can make mistakes. In the WhatsApp FAQ, the company specifically warns users about this. Therefore, it is recommended to double-check information against the original source, especially when using it for work, official documentation, or decision-making.

Notably, in early August, WhatsApp resolved one of its most persistent issues. New features will help users organize discussions faster, conduct polls, and manage large communities more effectively.
