Not a time for empty, populist statements - Tokayev spoke about social media disputes

Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has criticized pointless discussions surrounding the education sector, citing the Akorda press service.
The Head of State noted that the road to knowledge is a thorny path, full of challenges and hardships.

"Recognition and the fruits of success are achieved, above all, through hard work and total dedication. Ultimately, we must always remember that we are united by a common goal. In this regard, I would like to specifically address another important matter. Many of you have likely noticed that social networks regularly become platforms for heated discussions on education. Sometimes, former and current high-ranking education officials get involved in these disputes. Unfortunately, there is no reason to speak of the practical value of such discussions for the education sector. Instead of civilized dialogue, we are forced to listen to emotional outbursts and boasting. Even the teaching community finds it difficult to grasp the true point of such battles," he said.

The President emphasized that it is certainly necessary to care about the future of children and propose constructive solutions.

"It is a different matter when some people, instead of showing sincere empathy, try to broadcast their positions for personal popularity. It is perfectly clear that endless arguments do not lead to intellectual growth. We must remember that this is no time for empty populist rhetoric; real and practical solutions are what matter," he added.

It was previously reported that in Kazakhstan the construction of high-quality educational institutions will continue in all regions, especially in areas where there is a continued demand for school places. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called this an urgent task of national significance.
