Kazhydromet warned residents of Astana and three other cities

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has issued an official weather warning for residents of Astana and three cities in western Kazakhstan.
The information pertains to Wednesday's air quality forecast.

"On September 2, adverse meteorological conditions are expected in Oral and Aktobe, as well as overnight in Atyrau and during the day in Astana," the statement reads.

Adverse meteorological conditions referring to air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors (calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversions) that facilitate the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
Forecasters predict variable cloudiness and dry conditions in Astana. Northwesterly winds will shift to the southwest, reaching 7-12 m/s at night and 2-7 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will hover around 1-3°C with ground frosts of 1°C, while daytime temperatures will reach 15-17°C.
Aktobe will see variable cloudiness and no precipitation. Southwesterly and westerly winds are expected at 3-8 m/s. Temperatures will range from 9-11°C at night to 27-29°C during the day.
Atyrau will be mostly clear and dry. Southeasterly winds will reach 2-7 m/s at night and 5-10 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures are expected at 12-14°C, rising to 28-30°C in the afternoon.
Oral will experience variable cloudiness and no rain. Southwesterly winds will blow at 5-10 m/s. Temperatures will range from 9-11°C at night to 27-29°C during the day.
Earlier, meteorologists noted that the first days of the calendar autumn would bring contrasting weather to Kazakhstan. While localized frosts are expected overnight in the north, daytime temperatures are set to rise gradually. Meanwhile, several regions are forecasting rain, thunderstorms, and sleet.
