Almaty Airport announces changes for drivers

Tengrinews.kz — Almaty International Airport has reopened its main entrance from Mailin Street.
The airport’s press service announced the change on Tuesday, September 1.

“Almaty International Airport informs passengers and visitors of changes to traffic arrangements on the airport grounds. Following completion of the reconstruction of the airport entrance arch, the main access point from Mailin Street is now open for traffic in both directions — entry and exit,” the statement said.

It was clarified that 11 lanes are now available from Mailin Street for entering and leaving the forecourt area: four for entry and seven for exit. At the same time, the two entrances near the Aksunkar Hotel are now used only for access to the second floor and the departure areas of Terminals T1 and T2.
Users of the covered parking complex also have direct access to Zakarpatskaya Street when exiting.
Passengers and visitors are advised to take the changes into account when planning their routes and to follow road signs on the airport grounds. The updated traffic scheme will help distribute vehicle flows more efficiently and improve access to the terminals and parking facilities, the press service noted.
The main entrance to Almaty Airport from Mailin Street was closed for reconstruction in May. Drivers were able to use three entrances from Akhmetov Street near the Aksunkar Hotel, while vehicles exited through the main exit area.
