Police have found the mother of the newborn discovered in a trash can

Tengrinews.kz — Police in the Zhambyl region have identified a woman who abandoned her newborn daughter in a dumpster.
On the morning of September 2, it was reported that passersby discovered an infant in a trash bin on a street in the Korday district. Photos of the child, who was alive at the time of discovery, appeared on social media.

The baby girl was taken to a hospital, where doctors reported that her condition is stable and there is no threat to her life.
Within a few hours, police identified the mother through operational and investigative measures. She was taken to the police station, where she confessed to the act.

"A corresponding procedural decision will be made following a comprehensive and full pre-trial investigation," the Zhambyl Regional Police Department press service stated.

Other information is not subject to disclosure in accordance with Article 201 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Earlier, police announced the start of an investigation under Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code, "Abandonment in Danger." The article carries a penalty of a fine of up to 100 MCI (432,500 tenge), correctional or community service for up to 120 hours, or arrest for up to 45 days.
According to Tengrinews.kz, the woman is 37 years old. In addition to the rescued newborn, she has four other children.
