Kazhydromet warned residents of Almaty and two other cities

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has issued a warning on its official website for residents of Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Aktobe.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for Wednesday.

“On September 9, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Aktobe,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions associated with air pollution are a combination of short-term weather factors, such as calm conditions, light winds, fog and temperature inversions, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the surface layer of the atmosphere.
According to forecasters, Almaty will see partly cloudy and dry weather. Northeasterly winds will reach 3–8 meters per second. Daytime temperatures will range from +29°C to +31°C.
Aktobe will be partly cloudy, with rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds during the day. Fog is possible in the morning. Southwesterly winds will reach 7–12 meters per second, with daytime gusts of up to 15 meters per second. Daytime temperatures will range from +19°C to +21°C.
Ust-Kamenogorsk will be partly cloudy with no precipitation. Northeasterly winds will reach 2–7 meters per second. Daytime temperatures will range from +29°C to +31°C.
