Tokayev supported the reconciliation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia
Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has voiced support for the reconciliation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that the South Caucasus serves as a clear example of the results achievable through visionary leadership.
The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, delivered an address at the 7th CICA Summit.
"This rapprochement, following decades of deep-seated divisions, opens new perspectives and creates opportunities for building bridges between East and West. Given its firm political will and significant economic potential, CICA is capable of making a substantial contribution to the implementation of major transborder projects. I therefore propose the joint development of a CICA Strategy for Transport Connectivity. This strategy will allow us to explore the potential of our region's major international transport routes, including the Belt and Road Initiative, the North-South International Transport Corridor, the Middle Corridor, and the TRIPP initiative," the President noted.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that energy security is currently at risk of total collapse. He noted that transborder energy infrastructure is increasingly being impacted by conflicts.
"As a result, instability persists in energy markets worldwide. This uncertainty threatens to slow economic growth far beyond the borders of the countries directly affected by these events. This is precisely why Kazakhstan is prioritizing partnership. Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan have signed a strategic partnership agreement for the supply of green energy, laying the foundation for the Caspian Green Energy Corridor, which will integrate our power systems and ensure their further connection to European markets via the Black Sea," the Head of State reported.
