MINNEAPOLIS — The mother of slain motorist Philando Castile has filed a petition to receive nearly all of a $3 million settlement in his death. Valerie Castile’s petition proposes she get $2 million, with the remaining $995,000 going to attorneys. A Hennepin Couny judge will review the petition Aug. 2. Deadly earthquake rattles tourist spots near Greece, Turkey

A strong earthquake hit off the coast of Turkey overnight, killing two people. More than 120 people were hurt when the shaking began. Buildings were damaged, some that were centuries old. The epicenter was in the Aegean Sea, between two popular tourist destinations. Jonathan Vigliotti reports.
