Will Smith and Aunt Viv Are Feuding Over the Oscars Boycott

Janet Hubert, who played the original Aunt Viv on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, issued some strong words about her former co-star Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith over their decision to not attend the Oscars due to lack of diverse nominees.

Pinkett Smith addressed Hubert's accusations in an interview with ET, saying: This whole Oscar controversy isn't really about the Oscars.

Really, in my plea to ask all communities and people of color to take back our power is so that we can use it in all sectors of our community, and right now, specifically with African-American people, we have some very serious issues that I think we as a people have to move together on.

Speaking on Good Morning America Thursday morning, Smith said his snub for his starring role in Concussion is "probably a part" of Pinkett Smith's boycott of the Academy Awards, but that is not the main reason the couple will not be attending.

According to Hubert, during her time on the popular sitcom Smith was "an egomaniac" and an "a--hole" who didn't stick up for his co-stars when it came to helping the rest of the cast get raises.
