Defense Secretary James Mattis arrived in Baghdad Monday on an unannounced visit, quipping that the US wasn't going to "seize anybody's oil," but adding that the US might stay a while. Speaking to Radio Sputnik, independent Iraq analyst and journalist Joel Wing laid out the some of the important reasons behind the trip.
