If you've ever been fired or asked to resign from a job, chances are it's not something you enjoy talking about ... especially with prospective employers during job interviews.

But if there are any gaps or red flags on your résumé, hiring managers will likely ask you about them — and it can be uncomfortable.

"Employers are often so swamped with job applicants, they're programmed to use a process of elimination mindset," says Lynn Taylor, a national workplace expert... Читать дальше...

From the man in the moon to Greek gods among the stars, humans have long been discovering familiar forms in the heavens.

There's a word for this phenomenon of seeing patterns that don't exist: pareidolia. And it's all psychological.

While this mind trick may have served some evolutionary purpose, like helping us recognize mountain lions in the bush, it also leads to some pretty crazy interpretations.

Here, we offer some of the best examples of pareidolia with help from humanity's most powerful telescopes. Читать дальше...

We recently named Phillips Exeter Academy the most elite boarding school in America — for the second year in a row.

Its alumni base includes 19 state governors, five US senators, five Olympic athletes, two Nobel Prize winners, a US President, and even tech moguls like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Quora founder Adam D'Angelo.

HP

At the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona on Monday, HP finally revealed its grand plan to take on the iPhone, making good on a promise Meg Whitman made way back in 2012 to get HP into the smartphone market.

The company is launching a new smartphone device in 10 markets by the end of summer, including the US and Canada. But it's not another Android phone.

It's based on Microsoft's Windows 10 and it's more like what we'd call a super smartphone, meaning a super high-end, and, likely. Читать дальше...

Paul Krugman recently took up a popular criticism of Sanders: That he's not "realistic." Only one problem...

It’s a hell of a time to launch a Windows phone, and yet that’s exactly what HP did Sunday night at Mobile World Congress, when it debuted its Elite x3 flagship. This premium-level device enters a wasteland littered with failed phones, an ecosystem that, at last report, clings to just one percent of the worldwide market.

Remember when the Oculus Rift preorders opened up at a whopping $599, and gamers revolted? Remember how we optimistically wished, “now we’ll wait and see whether the HTC Vive...is more affordable?” Well, it’s not.

By the time that Power Man and Iron Fist #125 came out in the late summer/early fall of 1986, I’d already learned not to trust comic-book covers.

V.E. Schwab created a fantastic series of worlds for her fantasy novel, A Darker Shade of Magic. With A Gathering of Shadows, she’s brought us back for a new series of adventures, which is both exhilarating, but which also doesn’t quite live up to its predecessor.

When Microsoft announced its goal of unifying Windows 10 software across PC, tablets, phones, game consoles, and even Pi-powered micro computers, the future seemed promising. But there was one big problem with that vision: no one really wants a Windows smartphone.

HP targeted security-conscious business users and IT with Sunday’s announcement of the Elite x3 smartphone that runs Windows 10 Mobile. It ships this summer.

A world of money and storied family ties could not lift Jeb Bush to his party's nomination, as the former Florida governor announced Saturday night that he was dropping out of the presidential race after a disappointing finish in the South Carolina GOP primary.

Now that Donald Trump has won the South Carolina Primaries by a considerable margin, we must accept as possible what seemed long inconceivable: He might be our next President. It seems that many, many people actually want that to be the case.

Donald Trump himself is most probably not among these people. If we look closely, I believe we find a surprising but irrefutable fact: Donald Trump does not actually want to be President. He, like us, has probably not given it much thought, If he had, he would have realized it.

Oculus Rift.

Между тем предполагается, что, помимо самого шлема, в комплект Vive войдут два контроллера (для каждой руки), две фирменные базовые... Читать дальше...
