Sonam Kapoor recalls getting mocked for her facial hair, but was motivated by Kajol’s unibrow

Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor recently spoke about the difficulties that she faced when she was starting. Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam worked consistently for two decades before deciding to take a break after giving birth to her son Vayu. She made her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya with Ranbir Kapoor. Recently, Sonam spoke her heart out about dealing with a medical issue that affected her appearance and self-confidence. Sonam recalled a memory lane as she spoke about her struggles with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

Sonam appeared on Barkha Dutt's Mojo Story and said, 'I had something called PCOS. They used to call it PCOD, but they've changed it now. Because of that, I had multiple hormonal issues. So, I put on weight when I was 16 years old, which is when you're supposed to be your 'prettiest'. I had facial hair, I broke out in acne, and I had people tell me, 'She's Anil Kapoor's daughter'. I was traumatised'.

Sonam revealed how her mother came up with an idea to make her daughter feel comfortable. She said, 'At that time, I remember Kajol had a unibrow. She never did her eyebrows. She had hairline hair, and I remember my mom showing me Kajol's picture, and she was like, 'Look at her, she's the biggest heroine right now.' I remember seeing her and feeling motivated. The next year, when I was 17, I was discovered by Sanjay Leela Bhansali'.

On the personal front, Sonam is married to businessman Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018. She became a mother in 2022 and welcomed a baby boy. She took a break from movies when she moved to London.
