Todd Monken ‘jacked’ to turn Browns into kick-butt football team

Thirty-seven years ago, 13 coaching stops ago, Todd Monken was 23 years old when he landed a job as a graduate assistant at Grand Valley State raking in $5,000 a year. “I was jacked,” Monken recalled Feb. 3 after being introduced as the 19th full-time head coach of the Browns — their 11th since they were reborn as an expansion team in 1999. “It was the most fun I ever had coaching.” Monken, who turns 60 years old Feb. 5, follows Kevin Stefanski, who Jan. 5 was fired after six years on the job.
