Mentor boys basketball: Medina uses 23-point second quarter to surge ahead, take 68-63 victory

The last thing Mentor coach Bob Krizancic wanted was for his team to get bogged down in the halfcourt when on offense against a visiting Medina team that has four players 6-foot-3 or taller in its rotation, on Feb. 20. The Bees did not have 6-foot-11 senior Lucas Hogan, out with a broken foot, so that helped. Nevertheless, Medina managed to dictate tempo, used its length to out-rebound the Cardinals, pulled ahead with a 23-point second quarter, and held off a late Mentor surge to prevail, 68-63.
