In one statement, Nordstrom's CFO showed just how bleak the outlook is for traditional retailers
Nordstrom on Thursday released a terrible outlook for 2016,sending shares of the retailer plummeting.
And according to CFO Michael Koppel, part of what's dragging down the company's profits is its attempt to keep up with online retailers like Amazon.
"E-commerce now represents over 20% of our sales, a notable increase from 8% five years ago,"Koppel said in an earnings call.
