Should the Pens take a hard look at trading Malkin?

First off i understand that even mentioning this, im most likely going to catch a lot of grief. As the beginning of every season i always have the belief that the Penguins can win the cup. We have a solid core, (Sid, Geno, Letang, Fleury, Maata, Kessel) young enthusiastic entry level players, and above average coaching. Malkin will always be one of my favorites on the team, but i couldnt help getting into a debate with my wife last night at what might be if we actually traded Malkin. My wife believes we should keep the core together as long as possible and continue to find complimentary players as need be. My rebutal was that i feel like we are eventually going to turn into the Red Wings barely making it into the Playoffs but never reaching the goal which is the Stanley Cup. I feel like Malkin would bring back an handsome return which would benefit us throughout the next 6-8 seasons. Obviously this is completely hypothetical but my dream scenario would be making a trade to STL Blues that would benefit both teams. Initial pieces would involve Malkin for Tarasenko, either picks, prospects coming back. With your GM hat on, what would it take to actually consider trading Malkin? Do we continue win now mode or think about the future already?
