Wharf clerks invited to join Customs protest

Wharf clerks were invited to join the protest launched by Sri Lanka Customs (SLC) unions yesterday as less than 25 percent of Customs clearance activities took place at the Colombo Port.
On the third day of the protest against the new Customs Ordinance, Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents launched a protest outside of SLC Headquarters and held a seminar on the need to discuss the injustices in the proposed new Customs Ordinance with regard to wharf agents and clerks.
