Indian actress-turned-politician Jayaram Jayalalithaa dies

CHENNAI, India (AP) — Jayaram Jayalalithaa, the hugely popular south Indian actress who later turned to politics and became the highest elected official in the state of Tamil Nadu, died Monday. She was 68.
