7.3 quake hits off Vanuatu, no tsunami triggered | Reuters

SYDNEY A large magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck on Wednesday morning around 80 kilometres north of the South Pacific Island nation of Vanuatu, but did not trigger a tsunami warning throughout the region, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said. The United States Geological Survey initially had registered the powerful but deep quake at 7.2, before revising it upwards. (Additional reporting by Lincoln Feast in SYDNEY)

Yahoo signs ad pact with Google; earnings and revenue miss | Reuters

Yahoo Inc ( YHOO.O ) said on Tuesday it had signed a search advertising deal with Google Inc, providing a potential boost to Marissa Mayer's efforts to turn around the company, which also reported revenue and profit that fell short of market estimates. The deal with Google, a unit of Alphabet Inc ( GOOGL.O ), builds on an existing search partnership Microsoft Corp ( MSFT.O ) under which Yahoo gets a percentage of revenue from ads displayed on its sites.
