French far right’s plan to ban dual nationals from ‘strategic posts’ sparks alarm

If the far right National Rally party wins the French elections on July 7, it has pledged that dual nationals will be excluded from "the most strategic posts of the state." The controversial proposal has caused alarm among dual citizens and drawn criticism from the left and centrists. Interior Minister Garald Darmanin referred to it as a way of "filtering the French" that discredits some 3 million French dual national citizens and others believe it points to the wider discrimination at the heart of party's policies.
