Global temperatures surpassed 1.5C target in last two years, says EU monitor

Average global temperatures surpassed the internationally-agreed 1.5 degrees Celsius in the past two years, an EU monitor said on Friday, with the Earth recording its hottest year ever in 2024 as natural disasters increased in frequency and intensity across the world.
