If the effort succeeds, congressional Democrats warn in a study out Friday, President Donald Trump’s import taxes will cost American households an average of $2,512 in 2026, up 44% from $1,745 in tariff costs last year. And this at a time when U.S. consumers are already angry over the high cost of living and the war with Iran is pushing up energy prices.

NV Energy says exploding demand from data centers has put Nevada’s clean energy target at risk, even as the state requires more renewables. The utility warns it could miss the renewable standard as soon as next year. NV Energy says data center requests drive a much bigger load forecast than it expected two years ago. It says it may lean more on natural gas as some solar projects stall. NV Energy plans to file an early resource plan in April. If it misses the standard, regulators can fine the utility or grant a waiver.
