Israeli Defence Forces neutralize attacker attempting to car ram and knife soldiers
An initial report was received of a combined car-ramming and stabbing attack adjacent to the village of Hizma, southeast of Ramallah. The assailant was neutralized at the scene, the Israeli Defense Forces reported.
Following the report, the assailant attempted to ram into a number of IDF soldiers, exited her vehicle with a knife drawn and was neutralized in response. During the incident, an IDF soldier was lightly injured.
A Palestinian woman who arrived at the scene attempted to run over soldiers who were securing engineering work and then exited her car and tried to stab the soldiers. The terrorist was shot and killed by the soldiers, and one soldier was lightly injured and treated at the scene. The attacker was identified as Mai Afanah, 29, from Abu Dis, by Palestinian media the Jerusalem Post reported.
