Cole Kmet Brutally Honest Regarding Caleb Williams Signature Move
Last Saturday, several Bears players, including Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, Montez Sweat, Travis Homer, Braxton Jones, Kennan Allen, and Cole Kmet, among a few others, went to Wrigley Field to watch the Chicago Cubs play against the Milwaukee Brewers. The spotlight naturally fell on new quarterback Caleb Williams. Cole Kmet, speaking on 670 The Score, shared great details into the experience, noting similarities with previous Cubs games attended with former Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
However, Kmet sensed a new vibe this time, hinting at the team’s upward direction heading into next season given the new talent added. When asked about the huge standing ovation Williams received, Kmet revealed he even urged Williams to show the fans his trademark “bear claw” gesture, which has become popular since showcased it on draft night. Despite the encouragement, Kmet shared that the celebration might be a bit too much, offering a humorous yet honest opinion on the matter.
“He gave the weird bear claw that he started, and everyone loved that…I think it’s a little cheesy but I think it’s hysterical, I do think it’s pretty funny.”
Of course, Kmet was joking with these comments, and Caleb deserves credit for adopting the “bear claw” move and making it a real thing. Kmet suggested that Williams might even add his own flair to the signature move, so it’s worth paying attention to as rookie OTAs are set to start this Saturday.
