Ronaldo has scored 48 goals in 47 games for Al-Nassr this season.

And he will be hoping to lead Portugal to glory when he lines up for his country at the Euros this summer.

All eyes will be on captain Ronnie when he leads his side out for their group stage opener against Czechia, formerly the Czech Republic.

But only the most astute supporters will realise why his right foot will touch the turf first.

In fact, Ronaldo has been doing it for the entirety of his career, which began in 2002 with Sporting Lisbon.

And the bizarre habit is inspired by a Portuguese saying, “entra com a direita”, which implores people to “enter with the right.”

The observation and explanation was made by a Portugal fan called Jessica Andres.

She revealed Ronaldo strongly abides by the custom, which is also done in other countries around the world.

She said: “The right one thing isn’t superstition. It’s a Portuguese culture, ‘entra com a direita’, meaning ‘enter with the right’.

“And it’s pretty common in other countries too, Spain, India, Indonesia, Italy, Greece, Brazil, Russia, Asian and Muslim countries too, nothing strange.”

And Ronaldo hopes he can lure Fernandes to the Middle East, with Al-Nassr ready to propose a mega-money offer.
