Summer is always a difficult time of year for Chicago Bears fans. That is when the NFL reaches its closest point to a hibernation phase. Not a lot is going on with teams aside from OTAs and maybe the occasional free agent signing. Other than that, it’s a long wait for the start of training camp at the end of July. That is especially tough for Bears fans because they’re dying to see new quarterback Caleb Williams in action. They’ve seen the highlights over and over for weeks. Seeing that first pass, even if it’s in a scrimmage, in a Bears uniform will be exhilarating.

Unfortunately, Williams isn’t slated to suit up in full navy blue and orange for another two months when the preseason begins in August. However, the NFL may have thrown fans a bone. The NFLPA held a rookie photo shoot for the upcoming season. Williams and Rome Odunze, both being 1st round picks, were in attendance. Each was decked out in their home jersey, sporting their new numbers. Williams even ran through a couple of passing sequences to get an idea of what he’ll look like on Sundays.

Caleb Williams looks so much better in those colors.

Let’s be honest: the red and gold USC was great. Still, there is just something about the perfect blend of blue and orange that fits. It is also a taste of what else could be coming in the future. Williams will also wear alternate uniforms. Will the Bears bring back the 1940s throwbacks, or maybe the all-white stormtrooper looks? There is no doubt he would look sharp in them, too. The truth is this sneak peek is a great way to remind fans of what is coming in the near future.

Few are more excited than Caleb Williams himself. He’s demonstrated a clear excitement for his entry to the NFL. He set his goals high. Forget Rookie of the Year, making the Pro Bowl, or even reaching the playoffs. His singular goal is chasing #12 (Tom Brady) and his record of seven Super Bowl championships. If you’re going to aim high, you might as well aim for the top. It seems fitting that Williams wears the same number of Brady’s greatest rival, Peyton Manning. The season can’t get here soon enough.
