'Playing for England is the best job in the world': James Anderson

Legendary English fast bowler James Anderson retired from Test cricket at 41 with a victory over the West Indies at Lord's. In his final match, he took 3 wickets for 32 runs, contributing to England's innings and 114-run win. Anderson's career spanned 188 Tests with 704 wickets, the most for any pacer and second only to spinners Warne and Muralitharan. Reflecting on his career, Anderson expressed pride and gratitude, while England captain Ben Stokes and debutant Gus Atkinson paid heartfelt tributes.

WADA's independence under threat from US: ASOIF

ASOIF's statement is the latest shot across the US's bows regarding the case of 23 Chinese swimmers who were cleared to compete at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 despite testing positive for a banned drug. WADA received a clean bill of health over the matter in an interim report by retired Swiss prosecutor Eric Cottier on Tuesday. The “Streisand effect” of Donald Trump trying to disavow Project 2025 continues. On Thursday, CNN took his I-dunno-nothin’-about-it claim and found at least 140 Trump administration people who helped write the autocratic agenda, including six former Cabinet secretaries and “more than half of the people listed as authors, editors and contributors to ‘Mandate for Leadership,’ the project’s extensive manifesto for overhauling the executive branch,” CNN reports.
