Security was stepped up temporarily at a NATO air base in Germany because of a 'potential threat'

NATO says security at an air base in western Germany was raised temporarily because of intelligence information pointing to a “potential threat.” But later the level was reduced again. The Geilenkirchen air base is near the border with the Netherlands. The base is where the alliance’s Airborne Warning and Control System or AWACS surveillance aircraft are stationed. Niger's capital Niamey surrounded by floodwater

RBI cancels registration of UP-based Margdarshak Financial Services over payment defaults

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the registration of Margdarshak Financial Services Ltd due to high net NPAs and defaults on repayment. The Lucknow-based NBFC-MFI failed to maintain required funds and capital ratio. Facing cash flow issues and defaults, it raised doubts on its ability to continue. RBI also penalized NDX P2P Pvt Ltd and Innofin Solutions Pvt Ltd for non-compliance with digital lending guidelines.

Engineering exports register 3.6% growth in July amid global challenges

Despite a challenging global environment, India's engineering goods exports continued their upward trajectory in July with a 3.6 per cent year-on-year growth, reflecting the sector's resilience, EEPC said on Friday. The Engineering Export Promotion body EEPC India chairman Arun Kumar Garodia said the engineering goods exports were USD 9.04 billion in July 2024, compared to USD 8.72 billion a year ago month.
