Where do you spend your time between work and home?

These informal social spaces are known as "third places," a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg that refers to a wide array of spots people gather to socialize and pass time outside of their house or office.

New York's first female lieutenant governor, Mary Anne Krupsak, has died at age 92

The first woman to serve as lieutenant governor of New York has died. Mary Ann Krupsak was 92 when she died at home in Geneva, New York, on Saturday. She was elected lieutenant governor in 1974, becoming the first woman voted in to statewide office in New York. Krupsak served one term with Gov. Hugh Carey before announcing that she would challenge him for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in 1978. She lost in the primary.
