DOVER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office announced that 90 cats were rescued from a home in Dover on Saturday. Police located the animals after receiving a report of animal cruelty at the residence.

Officers reportedly found the cats in poor health and living conditions. The sheriff's office was assisted with the recovery by Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (HVARS).

The animals have since been taken into the care of HVARS to receive medical attention. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
