Three men rescued in Caspian Sea as helicopter joins search

Tengrinews.kz — Three men have been rescued in the Caspian Sea, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
“They went out to sea in an inflatable boat” — what happened
According to the ministry, the 112 emergency service received a report the previous evening that three residents of Zhanaozen had gone missing. Preliminary information indicates that about two hours earlier, they had gone out to sea in an inflatable boat near the Kenderli recreation area.

“For the search-and-rescue operation, personnel and equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the NSC Border Service were deployed. During the search, rescuers spotted one of the men swimming toward the shore on his own. They took him aboard and brought him back to land,” the press service said.

The search for the two remaining men continued through the night. The operation was complicated by darkness and the large search area.

“The search was organized across four sectors in different directions. Rescuers searched more than 20 kilometers of the water area and conducted aerial surveillance over more than 70 kilometers. The men were found by a search team 10 kilometers from the shore,” the ministry said.

Personnel and equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, NSC Border Service servicemen and volunteers took part in the search-and-rescue operation. A Kazaviaspas helicopter and a ministry drone were also deployed.
