Tengrinews.kz — Precinct inspectors in Almaty are conducting preventive sweeps to identify individuals without a fixed place of residence. Since the beginning of the year, 388 people have been brought to the Social Adaptation Center, citing the city police department.

During these raids, police officers identify individuals, check them against information databases, and, if necessary, refer them to the appropriate services.
A total of 388 people have been brought to the Pana Social Adaptation Center since the start of the year. Of these, 54 remained at the facility to receive further assistance. The rest declined the offered help following verification and an initial assessment.
How the raids are conducted
Police emphasize that the task of precinct inspectors is not only to identify people living on the streets. Officers establish their identities and determine the type of assistance they require.
"A precinct inspector's task is not just to identify a person on the street. It is important to establish their identity, understand what help they need, and, where grounds exist, refer them to the relevant services. At the same time, we must eliminate potential threats to public safety and suppress offenses in a timely manner. Therefore, these raids are primarily preventive in nature," noted Timur Nogaybaev, head of the Public Safety Department of the Almaty Police.
