SFDanceworks’ 2nd season includes 2 premieres

U.S. and world premieres, as well as a seminal work by José Limón, are part of the second season of SFDanceworks, founded by San Francisco Ballet soloist James Sofranko and co-presented by ODC Theater.

There will be six dances this year, including the American premiere of British choreographer Christopher Bruce’s “Shadows,” a commissioned piece by Izzie Award-winning choreographer and Gaga-trained dancer James Graham, and a solo from Limón’s 1942 classic “Chaconne” performed by retired San Francisco Ballet dancer Pascal Molat featuring live music from violinist René Mandel.

[...] on tap are dances from Alejandro Cerrudo and Penny Saunders of Chicago’s Hubbard Street Dance and Danielle Rowe, most recently from Nederlands Dans Theater, who now lives in the Bay Area.
