49ers’ Shanahan ‘feels confident’ Foster will make return
Here’s one reason to anticipate an 0-6 team’s seventh game: Reuben Foster is expected to return to the winless 49ers on Sunday.
Foster, the dynamic rookie inside linebacker who was injured after he played 11 snaps in the season opener, is on track to return against the Cowboys at Levi’s Stadium.
“He’s not 100 percent ready to go, but I feel very optimistic about it,” Kyle Shanahan said. “He had another good practice today. As long as there’s not any setbacks here over the next 48 hours or whatever it is, I feel pretty confident.”
Foster sustained a high ankle sprain Week 1, and returned to practice last week.
