FedEx reports mixed quarterly results, foresees 'moderate economic growth'

Shares of FedEx Corp. fell nearly 4% late Tuesday after the logistics and delivery company reported mixed quarterly results. FedEx said it earned $562 million, or $2.07 a share, in the fiscal third quarter, compared with $507 million, or $1.84 a share, in the third quarter of fiscal 2016. Adjusted for one-time items, FedEx earned $638 million, or $2.35 a share, in the quarter, compared with $692 million, or $2.51 a share, in the year-ago period.
