The Aurora’s ‘Confident linguistic environment’
Revolution might be thundering away outside the mansion in which Aurora Theatre Company’s “Splendour” is set, but inside, as four women wait in vain for a dictator to return, Abi Morgan’s language makes for a crisp, evocative and finely wrought world. The script seems to be written in fragments even when its characters speak in complete sentences, each word communicating reams, almost like poetry.
