Severance to be sentenced to life for multiple murders

(AP) — A serial killer convicted of killing three prominent Alexandria residents over the course of a decade as part of a general grudge against the city's elite will be formally sentenced to life in prison.

Prosecutors said Severance, who has a history of mental illness, wanted revenge against what he considered the city's enforcement class after losing a child custody case in Alexandria.
