Hilo charter school employee cleared of ethics violations

HONOLULU (AP) — The Hawaii Supreme Court has ordered the state Ethics Commission to dismiss charges against a Hilo charter school employee after determining the man shouldn't have been held liable for violating conflict of interest laws.

Boyd argued that ethics rules for state employees didn't apply to him because he worked for the local school board that governed the charter school.
