San Francisco Octagon houses - home to 3 spinsters and a ghostly past

At one time, it was reported that San Francisco was home to five octagonal shaped houses, four of which were on Russian Hill. The most famous one, located at 2645 Gough Street, between Green and Union Street, in Cow Hollow, the one on Green Street, in Russian Hill, a tea house on Russian Hill's Fallon Place (was not counted among the 5), once home to a bohemian artist, Styles Dickenson and the one that sits in disrepair at Land's End (also not counted among the 5). That one was used as a look out for ships. Atlas Obscura has more information about that 1927 structure. The fifth one, according to the San Francisco Chronicle article in 1953, was built on Rincon Hill.
