Armenian boxing team wins 1st Rio-2016 quota

Artur Hovhannisyan matched strength with Italian Manuel Cappai in under 49 kg category in the semi-finals of the qualifying tournament in Turkey.

Armenian athlete won three rounds and qualified for the finals, ensuring the Olympic quota.

Aram Avagyan (56 kg), Hovhannes Bachkov (64 kg), Narek Abgaryan (52 kg) and Vladimir Margaryan (59 kg) will perform later today.

It is worth mentioning that Rio-2016 quotas will be granted to finals participants and the winner of the third place.
