3 junior officers eyed as next PNP chief

By Aaron B. Recuenco and Alexader D. Lopez Incoming President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday named three candidates for the highest post in the Philippine National Police (PNP). They are Chief Superintendent Ramon Apolinario; Chief Supt. Ronald dela Rosa, who was axed as brigade commander of the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) before the May 9 elections; and Senior Supt. Rene Aspera, chief of staff of the PNP-Anti-Kidnapping Group. “They are good and had been my chiefs of police in the past. I can say that they had rendered sterling performances in the city of Davao. They are honest, they are not corrupt.” Duterte said he already told the three police officers to talk among themselves.
