Turkey revokes Westwater’s uranium project licences

Nasdaq-listed Westwater Resources on Friday announced that the Turkey government had revoked the mining and exploration licences of its Temrezli and Sefaatli uranium projects. The exploration and development company said that it was investigating the legality of the development and that it had 60 days to respond under Turkish law.

New app launched for quarrying industry

Johannesburg-headquartered developer, producer and supplier of commercial explosives AEL Mining Services has launched a new application (app), the Vibration and Acoustic Calculator (VibrAc). VibrAc will assist local quarries in calculating the various elements involved in blasting and in controlling the noise and vibration effects of blasting on surrounding communities.

Skills needed in local quarrying industry

The surface mining association, Aspasa, raised awareness about skills shortages in the local opencast mining and quarrying profession through a presentation delivered to an international audience of peers at the Global Aggregates Information Network (Gain) conference, in Spain, last month. Bell Equipment enters tipper truck market with Kamaz partnership

South African materials handling equipment supplier Bell Equipment has entered the Southern Africa tipper truck market through a partnership with Russian heavy duty truck manufacturer Kamaz. The new partnership was celebrated at bauma CONEXPO AFRICA 2018, held in March, in Johannesburg, where the Kamaz range of tipper trucks was formally introduced to clients to mark the first phase of introduction.
