Fire crews Wednesday descended on a dairy farm west of Petaluma to battle a blaze that burned through about 500 tons of alfalfa hay and sent smoke into neighboring farms and towns, officials said. Half a dozen fire agencies were called to Moreda Valley Dairy on the 3200 block of Chileno Valley Road to help quell the blaze, first reported about 2:30 a.m. to the Wilmar Volunteer Fire Department.
