Michael Jones was outside about 11:30 a.m. March 27 in the 800 block of West 52nd Street when two people approached him and fired shots, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

A man was shot and killed April 13, 2024 in Logan Square.

A man was shot and killed Saturday morning in Logan Square on the Northwest Side.

Around 6:30 a.m., the 29-year-old was in the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue when he was shot multiple times in the body, Chicago police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No one was in custody.

Man dies days after South Chicago shooting

A man died days after he was wounded in a shooting in South Chicago.

Michael Daniels, 18, was standing on the sidewalk April 2 in the 8000 block of South Phillips Avenue when someone opened fire around 7:15 p.m., Chicago police said.

Daniels was struck in the head and taken to the University of Chicago hospital.

He died of his injures Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No arrests have been made.

‘Supply chain backlog’ causes several Amtrak cancellations across Illinois

Several of Amtrak’s scheduled runs were canceled Friday and Saturday.

Amtrak canceled several of its scheduled runs in Illinois this weekend due to “equipment issues,” the rail agency said.

At least seven trains departing from or heading to Chicago were called off — four scheduled for Friday and three on Saturday. Buses were substituted in some cases.
